The Inn
Ringers
30th
Anniversary
1977 - 2007

The Inn Ringers 2007 : LATEST NEWS
At the Inn Ringers AGM held in January – the team agreed to the
appointment of Paul Mellor as their permanent conductor. Paul initially took
over the role following the resignation of Steve Ciavucco in December 2005.
Paul was one of the original Inn Ringers back in 1977 and has been a member of
the team for much of their 30 years together.
The Inn Ringers 30th Anniversary concert was a great
success – guests for the evening were Vicky Johnson-Phillips performing three
solo pieces on the clarinet and Matthew Johnson provided a performance on the
Xylophone. A team of ex-Inn Ringers came together to play two pieces which were
conducted by Steve Ciavucco – several members of the ex-ringers hadn’t rung a
bell for over 25 years.
The Inn Ringers are proud to have recorded their second album to
celebrate their 30th anniversary. The album is a collection of
pieces from their Christmas repertoire – over the years their concert audiences
have requested a recording of their Christmas material so the team decided to
record their Christmas tunes on one album.
The album was recorded in July at Orchard Studios in Cheshire and
will be released at the Heart of England Handbell Rally on 13th
October.
Details of the album on included on a separate web page.
The Inn Ringers have been instrumental in the setting up of a new
handbell society. The Heart of England Handbell Society was formed in October
2006 at an informal rally in Harvington, Eveshall, Worcestershire.
The aim of the society is to unite the handbell teams across the Midland
region. To date several events have taken place – their first annual dinner – a
special practice afternoon for 5 octaves of bells – and the next rally will be
held in Stone organised by the host team The Inn Ringers.
