Construction of the acoustic floor
One of the final tasks which had to be completed before the bell hanger returned was the construction of the acoustic floor. This floor's primary function is to reduce the sound level of the bells in the ringing room. The ceiling bosses in new floor also provide guides for the ropes. The trap in the floor is there to allow passage for the bells into the room above which contains the new frame. The position of the floor joists and noggins had to be carefully placed so that they would not block the fall of the bell ropes. Len's long arm reach was extremely useful in the construction of this floor.
